Markell Robinson, B.M.

My name is Markell Robinson, a Texas Music Educator with twelve years of teaching experience. I was born and raised in Wichita Falls, TX (near the OK border) where I graduated with honors from Hirschi High School and earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Midwestern State University.

While at Midwestern, I had the privilege of studying tuba and conducting under Dr. Larry Archambo, music theory/form/orchestration under Dr. Ronald Hough, music literature and history under Dr. Ruth Morrow, jazz/percussion ensemble and marching band practicum under Mr. Alan Black just to name a few. I was an active member of the instrumental music department, participating in the University Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Pep Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Percussion Ensemble. I graduated in May 2006 to begin what has been an incredible teaching career!

I've been fortunate to have been able to teach in different school districts across the state including Lubbock-Cooper, Paducah, DeSoto, Wharton, and Seagraves as well as others. With each experience I gained valuable knowledge that has allowed me to create innovate curricula, engaging teaching methods, and methods for managing the logistics of operating a school music program.

In my spare time, I enjoy writing music and poetry, reading, playing computer games, and socializing with friends and family.
